Stephanie and Zulay Smith of ZassDesign

A mother + daughter graphic design team in the Raleigh, NC area created ZASSdesign driven to do something worthwhile professionally and creatively, but above all, to do something that inspired them personally. The two transform and upcycle paper printed materials, plastic bottles, and aluminum cans into unique contemporary jewelry pieces. Their philosophy in every creation is sought to respect the environment and the fundamental principle of ecodesign: reduce, reuse, recycle.

Julianne Applegate of JulieApple

JulieApple is a labor of love from Julianne Applegate - former VP of Design with LeSportsac™. Julianne Applegate has been designing for over 15 years. She has traveled the world and found inspiration in every corner. Her designs have been sold in The U.S., Europe, Asia, South America, Mexico, and Canada, and featured at Colette, Paris and Takashimaya, Tokyo, and on the RTW runway. Applegate has been fortunate to design collaborative collections for Diane Von Furstenberg, Jonathan Adler, Stella McCartney, Gwen Stefani, and many others. Julianne has made custom fit apparel, created CAD software for designers, taught courses at Parsons, designed bullet proof vests for female police officers and soldiers, costumed plays, and worked with inventors. After years with LeSportsac as their Vice President of Design, Applegate left LeSportsac to consult and to build JulieApple. Every JulieApple piece is painstaking crafted with fair labor & sustainable, local materials with the commitment to be good to every hand that touches it.

Jewelry by Haden Designs

Haden Designs started while designer Liz Esser was living in Brooklyn NY.  It was brought along when she moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2007 and it has been evolving ever since.  As a jewelry designer she is inspired by the challenge to use materials other than just metal.  For her, its about creating a cohesive piece which is unique and aesthetically pleasing by combining different textures of materials and items which are new and ones that have been already enjoyed by others.
