WHO WE ARE
Redress Raleigh was founded by Beth Stewart, Jamie Powell and Mor Aframian in the summer of 2008. Each founder brings ideas from her own background to Redress Raleigh - creating a diverse vision of design innovation, retail practicality, and eco-chic. Our annual eco-fashion show encourages independent artists and designers to incorporate "green" practices into their work, while showing a wide audience how easy it is to find eco-friendly clothing that is fashion forward. Our audience includes designers, students, boutique owners, suppliers, producers and customers. We connect and inspire people to build the infrastructure that will support a green fashion industry and economic engine.
WHY A CONFERENCE
As consumers and business owners we want to pay more attention to our textile and apparel choices but often do not feel we have enough information. One of the main goals of the Redress Eco-fashion and Textiles Conference is to educate people about how eco-fashion is accessible, wearable, and innovative. Now is the time for the Southeast textile and apparel industry to come together and advance toward a more environmentally sustainable platform. As the resource for eco fashion & textiles in the Southeast, Redress Raleigh intends to jump-start this dialogue for change through this inaugural conference bringing together designers, students, boutique owners, suppliers, producers and customers.
