Redress Raleigh Now Accepting Vendor Applications for Eco Fashion & Textiles Conference

RALEIGH NC - This March, Redress Raleigh celebrates its five year anniversary with a weekend-long conference focused on eco-fashion and textiles in Southeastern USA and beyond. The Redress Eco Fashion & Textiles Conference will take place March 23rd and 24th 2012. The mission of the conference is to expand the dialogue on transforming the current fashion and textile industry into an ecologically conscious and ethical one.

The highly-successful premiere annual eco-fashion show will be the Saturday night showcase, highlighting innovative designers who consider the environmental impact of their collections.

Capitalizing on the excitement from Saturday night’s show, Sunday will offer a unique opportunity for artists to sell their eco-conscious products to potential new customers. The marketplace will be free and open to the public as well as conference attendees. Vendors for the marketplace are hand-selected for inclusion and will be heavily marketed via the website and print materials for the conference. Vendor applications are due by January 15th and applicants should be able to show how their goods are handcrafted and made with a focus on low environmental impact.

To apply, please visit http://www.redressraleigh.com/marketplace/ to complete the application.

Beyond the great word-of-mouth publicity Redress Raleigh has received over the last 4+ years, they have been featured in multiple media outlets including The Independent, the Raleigh Downtowner, My Carolina Today, and many popular blogs.

Accepted vendors will have the honor of joining Redress Raleigh’s growing network of resources and will be included in future partnership opportunities with the organization. Redress’s social media presence is continuously expanding - the Twitter following grew over 50 percent in the past year, the Facebook page averages 2 ‘likes’ a day, and the newsletter has grown by over 800 subscribers in the past year.

The conference also includes keynotes from nationally-known presenters: Elizabeth Cline, author of Overdressed: The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion; David Peck, CEO of CrOp by David Peck; and Beth Doane, founder of RainTees, Author, and Owner of Andira Consulting.

The educational sessions and workshops will offer presentations from exceptional eco-champions such as Tara St James, Owner and Creative Director at Study NY and Fashion Director for The Uniform Project; Susie Breur, Founder of Co-Lab54 and author of Blue is the New Black; Greta Eagan, Stylist, Sustainability Expert, and Founder of FASHIONmeGREEN. Sustainability leaders Eric Henry, President of TS Designs; Ryan Hurley, Owner of Vert & Vogue, and Aly Khalifa, Founder of LYF Shoes, will be adding their local expertise to the event.
